What are the counselor’s hours on campus?

The counselor is available on campus on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.


How long does a counseling session last?

Generally, a counseling session lasts about an hour but could be shortened to 30 minutes.


How many times can a student see a counselor on campus?

A student can see the counselor on campus as often as necessary.


What can the counselor help me with?

The counselor is trained to help you in a variety of areas. Students may come see the counselor to talk about adjusting to college life, test anxiety, study tips, relationship issues, grief, stress management, to name a few areas.


Is counseling available off-campus?

Yes, counseling is available off-campus within the Omaha area as well as within the vicinity of where you live if it is outside the Omaha area. Through our partnership with Arbor Family Counseling, students can meet with a counselor at the Arbor Family Counseling office in Omaha, or a counselor can be identified in your area, wherever you are in the country. Students are entitled to three free counseling sessions per concern/per year through Arbor Family Counseling.

Yes, you can talk to the counselor by phone. To schedule this, please contact Counseling Services at 402.552.2694 to set up an appointment for the phone call.
