Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. Alumni

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) recently announced changes to the requirements post-primary certificate candidates must meet prior to registering for their certification exam. All candidates must now complete 16 hours of structured education relevant to their area of interest (see modalities listed below). Upon successful completion of this requirement, candidates must sit for their board examination(s) within a 24-month period.

What Qualifies As Structured Education?

Structured education can be in the form of either RCEEM-approved continuing education activities or ARRT-approved academic courses. At least one continuing education credit or its equivalent of structured education in each certification content category is required.

Clarkson College is now offering ARRT-approved structured education courses in a number of the post-primary certification categories. The flexible, self-paced online study options qualify you for your post-primary certification exam and meet the new 2018 certification requirements. What Is the Purpose of the New Requirements?

The rationale for creating three-credit hour courses was to meet the content specification for each post-primary certification. This way, students are not confined to one section but all sections to allow them to be more successful on their board exams.
