Dr. James Hauschildt



Dr. Hauschildt was appointed the President of Clarkson College in 2020. He grew up in St. Charles, Iowa and earned his diploma from the Allen School of Nursing and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa in 1996. His nursing career began at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, and he continued his work as a clinical nurse during his service in the US Air Force from 1997 until 2001.

After returning to the Midwest, he began his career in higher education as an Assistant Professor at Allen College in Waterloo while serving as a Managing Education Consultant. During that time, Dr. Hauschildt earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas as well as his Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Alabama and his Master’s degree in Business Management from Webster University.

In 2004, he completed his Doctor in Education Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Iowa, and his dissertation topic was Application of Case Study Methodology in Critical Care Nursing Education. He completed his post-doctoral study in Design and Implementation of Integrated Analytics Systems for Strategic Planning Outcomes Reporting through Penn State University in 2013. 

Prior to his role with Clarkson College, Dr. Hauschildt served as the President of Good Samaritan College in Cincinnati, Ohio and as the President, Chief Academic Officer & Endowed Chair at St. Luke’s College in Kansas City, Missouri. Most recently, Dr. Hauschildt and his family founded Global Education Ministries Foundation in 2019, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting global education services. He currently serves as the CEO of the organization.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hauschildt served as an Accreditation Site Surveyor for the Missouri State Board of Nursing as well as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. He is currently active as an Accreditation Site Visitor and Team Leader through the Higher Learning Commission, as well as an Accreditation Site Visitor through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Hauschildt is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Crucial Conversations Certified Facilitator, Quality Matters Certified Reviewer and Baldrige Performance Excellence Certified Examiner.
